Maze is a gripping suspense film that follows the relationship between two men on opposite sides of the prison bars. Larry Marley (Tim Vaughan-Lawlor) is the chief architect of the escape. To pull off this feat, he must cultivates an uneasy friendship with warden Gordon Close (Barry Ward).  Based on the true story of the 1983 escape of 38 prisoners from Northern Ireland’s titular high security prison.

Maze is a terrific little movie; it really is. Named after its setting, a prison in Northern Ireland considered to be all but escape-proof, it’s a throwback to the days when character-driven genre dramas that mixed excitement and emotional connection could still command an audience..

Yet underneath the plotting and internecine tussles of the would-be escapees lurks something much more interesting: the story of a seduction.
